  1. Western Attire: – Western hat, belt, western boots, long sleeve shirt with sleeves down and snapped or buttoned if they have them. Shirts must be tucked in; unless they are designed to be worn out.. No bare midriffs are to show. Long pants are required. Authentic suspender pants must be worn with suspenders.
  2. English Attire: Proper attire for the type of English saddle that is ridden. This includes jumper classes.
  3. No sleeveless shirts unless used under a jacket.
  4. Properly fastened protective headgear that meets or exceeds ASTM standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag shall be optional in all events but will be required for all over-fence classes and dressage. Youth are required to wear approved safety helmets whenever mounted or riding in wagons at an AMA-approved show. Youth are encouraged, but not required, to wear an approved safety helmet in all nonriding/driving classes: halter, packing, and showmanship.
